  3. What time should I arrive at the venues?
    • Welcome Dinner
      Buffet service will commence at 6:00pm, with the evening concluding at approximately 8:30pm
    • Wedding Luncheon
      Guests are invited to arrive from 11:00am for an 11:30am commencement, concluding at approximately 2:00pm
    • After Party
      Guests are invited to arrive from 5:00pm onwards
  1. Will dietary requirements be catered for?
    Yes, dietary requirements can be accommodated. Kindly include any dietary requirements in your RSVP so we can coordinate with the venues and ensure suitable options are prepared.
  2. What type of food will be served at your wedding
    • At the Welcome Dinner, a wide selection of international and local dishes will be available, accompanied by a range of non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages may also be ordered directly from the staff. All food items will be clearly labelled, including allergy-friendly options.
    • The Wedding Luncheon will feature an eight-course traditional Chinese banquet. Guests with dietary requirements will be served a specially curated four-course Western menu.
    • Grazing style charcuterie board will be served at the After Party alongside free-flow alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Guests are welcome to enquire with staff regarding ingredients and specific allergens.
  1. What is the dress code for the Welcome Dinner
    • The dress code for the Welcome Dinner is smart casual attire.
  2. What is the wedding dress code for the Wedding Luncheon?
    Please observe a formal dress code:
    • In honour of Chinese tradition, we kindly ask guests to refrain from wearing all black or all white, as these colours are considered non-auspicious.
    • Traditional attire (e.g. men’s tang suits and women’s maxi cheongsams) and bright colours (e.g. pink, green and blue) are most welcome.
  1. What is the dress code for the After Party?
    • Please observe a cocktail or formal dress code. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended for dancing.
  2. What is considered ‘all-black’ and ‘all-white’?
    • For “all black,” a black tuxedo or suit paired with a white shirt is perfectly acceptable.
    • For “all white,” off-white tones such as cream and ivory are welcome.
  1. Are there accommodations near the venue or hotel room blocks?
    • We have reserved a room block at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur.
    • To receive discounted room rates, please complete this form and we will include your booking in our rooming list.
    • A booking confirmation email from The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, including check-in details, will be sent closer to the wedding date.

  1. What should I do if I do not make it into the room block?
    • If you miss the deadline to reserve a room under our rooming list, please contact Anton or Karynn. While we cannot guarantee availability, we will do our best to assist with securing the discounted room rate.
    • Should rooms no longer be available, we have listed nearby accommodation options below for your reference:

  1. Is there parking available near your wedding venues?
    • On-site parking is available at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur for MYR 15.00 nett. Please validate your parking ticket at the Level G concierge reception.
    • On-site parking is also available at Moxy Kuala Lumpur for MYR 15.00 nett per entry for guests attending the After Party at Lavantha.
  1. Will there be a shuttle to and/or from The Ritz-Carlton hotel?
    • Guest transportation will not be provided throughout the wedding weekend.
    • The Welcome Dinner and Wedding Luncheon will take place at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, where our room block is reserved.
    • The After Party venue is approximately a 13-minute drive from the hotel and is easily accessible via rideshare services (i.e. Grab).
  2. What is the best airport to use?
    • For direct flights to Kuala Lumpur, we recommend flying with Malaysia Airlines into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
    • A second airport, KLIA2, services other airline operators including AirAsia, Scoot, Jetstar Asia etc.
    • Both KLIA and KLIA2 are approximately 50 to 60 minutes by car from Kuala Lumpur city centre. The most convenient way to travel into the city is via rideshare service (Grab).
    • For our guests travelling internationally with luggages, we recommend selecting the following: 1) “Standard Plus” 2) “Standard 6 seater” 3) “Premium” for sufficient luggage space.
    • Pickup Location:
      • KLIA: Typically Level 1, Door 3 or 4
      • KLIA2: Follow signs to the designated ride-hailing area at the transportation hub
      • Estimated Grab fare for the journey is approximately MYR 150.00

Do I need a Visa when traveling to Malaysia?

  • For most countries (Australia, China, Taiwan, etc) you can enter visa free for tourism stays up to 30 days. However, each visitor must complete a Malyasia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
  • The MDAC can be completed up to 3 days prior to arrival and requires standard information including the purpose of the visit, length of visit and your accomodation details. It is recommended that the MDAC is completed before you arrive in Malaysia for a seamless immigration experience.
  • With that said, Anton has had experiences where he has completed the MDAC beforehand and still had difficulties entering Malaysia through the MDAC passport gates. If this occurs, try one more time and if it fails again, it is recommended that you go through the queues leading to the manual immigration checks.

Is there a wedding registry? Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

  • We will not be having a wedding registry and kindly request no gifts, as your presence is truly the only gift we wish for.
  • Instead, we would be delighted if you would leave us a note in our guest book upon arrival at Li Yen.
  1. Will the wedding be live streamed?
    Unfortunately, we won’t be live streaming the wedding.
  1. Where will wedding updates be posted?
    Any additional updates or changes requiring your attention will be posted on the home page of our wedding website.

  1. What will the weather be like during the wedding?
    • Late October and early November typically fall within Malaysia’s monsoon season.
    • Despite occasional rain showers and thunderstorms, the weather remains hot and humid, with temperatures generally ranging from 23°C to 32°C.
  2. Do I need cash while in Malaysia?
    • Cards (Visa and Mastercard) are widely accepted in most places.
    • For local eateries, markets and smaller vendors, it is helpful to carry some Malaysian Ringgit.
    • We recommend “Wise” for convenient currency conversion and payments.
